I graduated from Pratt Institute in 2012 with a BFA in Fine Arts, specializing in Printmaking. I regularly practice my art, working in a variety of mediums including drawing, printmaking, ceramics, glass, and jewelry.
I was awarded Best in Show for the Schweinfurth Art Center’s Made in NY 2015 Exhibition, and my work has been exhibited in galleries in New York, Rhode Island, Indianapolis, and in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. You can see some of my work at eliseincze.com.
(Regarding my art) people have said I'm a maximal minimalist if that makes sense. Yes, all of the lines in my pieces are hand drawn. The pieces for the series "Things Fall FLAT" were sequentially given fewer boundaries in the pieces for the line to start and end as it continues from the first piece to the last. Originally, I gave them titles by counting how many lines were in the piece but a few years later, I had an epiphany as to how to give them more personality and add a story telling element to tie them in together. I think this gave people a way to conceptualize the work and add something relatable in the telling a story of a line from the beginning to the end.
