2019 Quilts Unlimited Lecture and Luncheon

October 5, 2019

Next Session: Saturday, October 05, 2019 / All Day

Join us for the 2019 Quilts Unlimited Opening Day Lecture and Luncheon.

This year will feature a lecture by  Lorry Chwazik

What is the definition of a successful quilt? Can quilts be considered an art form? And what happened to the rabbit that chewed a hole in a handmade quilt that took years to make? Lorry Chwazik will explore these questions and more in a trunk show that illustrates our quilts can be as individual and eccentric as their makers.

As a self-taught quilter with over 250 completed quilts and more fabric than she could use in a dozen lifetimes, Lorry has conceded that quilting might be something with which she is a bit … obsessed. As a retired school librarian and a card-carrying introvert, she both worries and finds comfort in the fact that in her future there may never be a reason to ever leave her quilt studio again. And as a member of the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges, Lorry can also answer your questions about what the judges look for in a blue ribbon quilt while her own quilts may look like they were assembled after imbibing in a little too much blue ribbon beverage. If you have more pictures of your quilts on your phone than you do of your children, you may just be a kindred spirit. The therapy session starts at ten!
