This year is the 40th anniversary of Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors that is hosted annually in August and September by View in Old Forge, NY. The exhibition is open to all artists working in water-based media. This includes transparent and opaque watercolors, casein, egg tempera, gouache and ink. This year all submissions must be made through CallforEntry.org (CaFÉ). This exhibition is planned for in-person at View but will also include an online exhibition with all the exhibiting works.

Juror of Selection: Pat Dews AWS D.F, NWS
Pat Dews, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City is a signature member and Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society and a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, New Jersey Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society and the National Collage Society.
Pat has received numerous awards across the Nation and in China, some of Dews’ awards include the 33rd and 36th Award in the Abstract/Experimental category of Artists Magazine Competition. Pat is the author of [the painter’s workshop] Creative Composition & Design, and Creative Discoveries in Watermedia and her works have appeared in numerous books and publications. Dews’ videos, Designing Great Starts with Texture and Form and Let’s Get Started Finishing are available through Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff. Pat is an enthusiastic and popular national, international workshop instructor. Dews’ has served as juror for both the American and National Watercolor Societies and numerous art organizations across the country.
Juror of Awards: Matthew Bird, NWS, TWSA
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Matthew graduated with honors from the Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, New York, in 2000. He is a Signature Member of numerous organizations, including the National Watercolor Society, where he serves as vice president. His award-winning watercolor paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across the United States, as well as in Canada, China, England, Greece, Hong Kong, and Italy. His work is in museum and private collections.
Matthew has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine as one of “Today’s Masters” (Feb. & Oct. 2018, Feb. & April 2019, Dec. 2020), American Art Collector Magazine (Issue 158, 171), Watercolor Magazine as “One To Watch” (Dec. 2017), The Artist’s Magazine (July/August 2017), The Art Of Watercolour Magazine (Issue 32), and in the Splash “best of watercolor” book series.
Through the generous donation of our supporters, View and the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors is able to offer over $12,000 in cash prizes.
-All works must be comprised of 90% water media.
-Collage and prints are not eligible.
-All entries must be of original design and personal execution created within the past 2 years.
-Artwork previously shown at View is not eligible.
- A non-refundable entry fee of $45/$30 for View Members of View enables the artist to submit up to 2 works. Each artist may submit a total of 5 works at a cost of an additional $10 per image. Payment should be made at CallforEntry.org (CaFÉ).

- Artists should set up a profile on CaFÉ or log into their existing profile, upload artwork as digital files.

-Image size should be unframed dimensions of your work.
-Submitting a work of art to this exhibition the artist agrees to the conditions and terms set forth in this Prospectus as well as in the Acceptance Notification Letter.
-CaFÉ does not permit any image changes, replacements, or refunds after submission.
-Please check your pricing carefully, price changes are not permitted after entry in CaFÉ. If your work is not for sale, make sure to list that where required in your application. By submitting your pricing through CaFÉ, you agree to sell that work at the price submitted.

-All works must be of original design and copyright of the artist.
-View reserves the right to utilize all images submitted to the Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors in promotion of the exhibition and for the general promotion of View.
-View may rescind the right of hanging any work unsuitably presented or misrepresented.

-Selection notification will be sent by April 23, 2021.
-Selected artists will receive a 2021 Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors Catalog at the end of the exhibition.
-Selected paintings must be received at View no later than May 21, 2021.
-View will retain a 35% commission on all works sold.
-Selected artwork must be suitably framed and ready for installation.
-All shipping is at the expense of the artist. There will be a $10 handling fee for each package shipped to View. The handling fee covers condition reporting and photographing of the work as it arrives, and follow up conditioning and repacking at the conclusion of the exhibition. You must include a prepaid shipping label for the return of the work. Accepted artists will receive detailed information regarding shipping and handling requirements.
