"Winter In Action" is an exhibition celebrating winter sports and activities throughout the Northeast. The North Country is a winter wonderland and provides the exhilaration of traversing snow covered groomed and backcountry trails. Unplowed seasonal roads and woodland trails wind along rivers, lakes and streams, through majestic forests capped with panoramic vistas of mountain scenery. These provide a perfect foundation for snowmobilers, skiers, hikers, ice fishing and more to enjoy. Several inspirational mountains are located in the Northeast including McCauley Mountain, Whiteface, Gore and are home to Olympic Alpine and Nordic skiers and recreational skiers from upstate New York and the Northeast. Whatever your winter fun is, you will find it celebrated in this exhibition.
This exhibit will feature over 100 works of art by artists throughout the Northeast. The exhibit will also feature borrowed objects from ADKX, Town of Webb Historical Association and Local Olympians.
Winter in Action is an invitational exhibition, curated by Heather Caufield & The Visual Arts Committee of View Center for Arts & Culture (Old Forge, NY) and Gerald Stanton (Salisbury, CT)
