Jim Morris has been exhibiting throughout the United States for over twenty years. He received his MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is an alumnus of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His work has recently been featured in exhibitions at The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Draper Gallery; Anadolu University, School of Art & Design, Eskisehir, Turkey; Pratt Institute at Munson Williams Proctor in Utica, New York; the Burchfield-Penny Art Center in Buffalo, New York; and the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He is the recipient of grants from the George Sugarman Foundation and the ED Foundation, along with an artist residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Jim has also received several fellowships that include a summer Fulbright to Malaysia and Singapore, a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship, a NEA / Mid Atlantic Artist’s Fellowship, and an Individual Artist’s Fellowship from the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in North Carolina.
