Wet Felting Workshop

Welt felting is a process where you take dyed fleece and layer it on a pattern. Then you add soapy warm water and watch your felted object become one piece. You can create a felted scarf, or a set of mittens, purse, and a set of dryer balls.

Not only will you learn how to create a marbled silk scarf, you will also learn how to paint on silk using dyes and resist. When finished you will have created an 8 inch by 54 inch silk scarf and handkerchief.

Northeast Living Lamps Workshop with Teresa Breuer

In this class you will create two lampshades using botanicals that can be found all around us in the Adirondacks, including cedar, ferns and leaves. These botanicals will be pressed between two layers within the lampshade, preserving their natural beauty. They can be admired only when the lamp is turned on and are hidden when the lamp is off.

The Art of Sketching with Robert Imundo

Students will practice the dynamics of line, the subtle use of shade, and the value of contrast. They will work with a variety of pencil graphite weights, conte crayons, erasers and different types of paper. Rob will also teach students to use the grid as an aid to orient objects on paper and learn to reevaluate use of composition.

Robert will teach the fundamentals and introduce the various tools and their use. Shaping, cut-ting, forming, and soldering silver will also be covered. A specific project will be introduced and each student will learn how to create a ring with a set stone or pendant. The intent of this workshop is to learn new things, to be creative and have fun.
