"This textile landscape was inspired by a hike in the Adirondack Mts. I began with a general sketch of a scene on my base fabric layered over batting. Next, I filled in this sketch using thousands of confetti-cut pieces of batik fab-rics to create a highly textured and impression-istic representational background. Over this I layered larger cut pieces of fabric to give visual recognition. Lastly, with the use of thread painting and quilting, the final scene came to life with depth, emotion, and visual texture.
