View hires new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of View, the Arts Guild of Old Forge, is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Grimshaw has been appointed executive director. Mr. Grimshaw is deeply experienced in not-for-profit organizational management, including heading the YMCA of Fulton and the Oswego County Workforce Development Board.

For the past 17 years, Mr. Grimshaw has acted as a key advisor in strategy and development for numerous nonprofits through his work as an organizational development consultant for business, government, higher education, and nonprofit entities.

Grimshaw previously directed the Center for Not-for-Profit Excellence at SUNY Oswego and served as the Director for the Office of Business and Community Relations. During his time at SUNY Oswego, Grimshaw supported the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council through service on the Workforce Development Sub-Committee.

Grimshaw’s extensive experiences with community-based organizations include work with the Rosamond Gifford Foundation, the Central New York Community Foundation, the Health Foundation of Western and Central New York, and the Adirondack Community Foundation. Additionally, for the past 20 years he has served on the Boards of Farnham Family Services, Operation Oswego County, the Oswego County Rural Health Network, the Oswego County Tourism Advisory Council, ARISE Foundation Board, and several other community-based organizations.

He is passionate about View’s mission and brings broad development and business skills for the future. Grimshaw expressed delight in returning to the Old Forge area, where his family has enjoyed the beauty of the Adirondacks for decades.

    Congratulations, Jeff! We love Old Forge and visit often. And -- we are quite familiar with your organization. I just recently stepped down as president of the Salmon River Fine Arts Center in Pulaski (where I live,with my family) after an 8-year stint. I remain a,boardmember

    Congratulations on securing the position of director with such a well qualified individual. Mr, Grimshaw will
    have a wonderful,experience working with the VIEW Board and members. Coming with my reunion pals next
    Thursday,the 13th...We worked at the various inn's , hotels back in the 50's ,great memories
