Christine Roo Suits -
Christine has appeared as Belinda next to Metropolitan Opera Mezzo-Soprano Jenifer Johnson Cano (Dido and Aeneas), Countess Almaviva and Barbarina (Nozze di Figaro), Vespetta (Pimpinone), Angelica, the Lay Sister, and Prima Cercatrice (Suor Angelica), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Fraarte (Radamisto), and has sung with Opera Saratoga, Manhattan Opera Studio, Miami Summer Music Festival, Opera San Jose, Palm Beach Opera, Opera on Tap San Francisco, Opera Chapman, Opera Santa Cruz, and Opera Festival di Roma, and Vero Beach Opera.
Christine was most recently a finalist in the Marcello Giordani Competition, winning the Shay-Webster award, as well as a series of Master classes in Catania, Sicily in 2016. She was also the winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Opera Council’s South East district. In 2014, Christine was a finalist in the prestigious Irene Dalis Competition in San Jose, CA, the first place winner of the Florida Suncoast Opera Guild’s young professionals competition in March 2014, and a quarter finalist of the BRAVA! Opera Competition.
Christine excels at the challenges of modern compositions, and has preformed and premiered the chamber works of several contemporary and living artists. She has covered American Lyric Soprano Caroline Worra in the World Premeire of "The Long Walk", singing the role(s) of Aunt Sarah, Iraqi Woman, and The Shrink. Christine is at home on the concert stage and has sang with internationally acclaimed bass- baritone Dean Peterson for the Schonberg Memorial Concert Series, has performed numerous concert series for Opera Saratoga’s 2015 season, and has been featured as a soloist in Handel’s “The Messiah” on both US coasts.
In addition to receiving her BM degree in vocal Performance from Chapman Universities Conservatory of Music, Christine also holds a doctoral degree in Chinese Medicine. Dr. Suits is a health enthusiast, a proud US Olympian in Windsurfing, and avid surfer. 2016 brings her back to the Miami as Musetta in La Bohème, to her debut with Virginia Opera as Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Ännchen
in Die Freischutz, as well as the concert stage of the “The View Arts Center” in Old Forge NY. Christine will also be singing the Title role of Lucia Di Lammermoor with Miami Lyric Opera in the Spring of 2017.
Dominick Corbacio -
Hailed as "Heartbreakingly intense", tenor Dominick Corbacio is a quickly emerging young artist with a rapidly growing repertoire spanning opera, oratorio, and art song.
A native of Syracuse, NY, he recently performed as the tenor soloist in Handel'sMessiah with the Hamilton Masterworks Chorale and Symphoria in Upstate New York. In October 2015 he was featured as a guest artist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Mingwei’s performance art piece Sonic Blossom. He was subsequently praised by The New York Times for having given “one excellent performance after another…”.
Dominick made his debut as an apprentice artist with Opera Saratoga in 2015, singing the role of the Sailor in Karole Armitage’s production of Dido and Aeneas,as well as covering the role of Castleman in the world premiere of Jeremy Howard Beck’s The Long Walk. While in residence at Opera Saratoga, Dominick won first prize in the inaugural Saratoga Sings! competition. In 2015 he also performed the roles of Steven Todd and Arnold Murray in a concert reading of The Life and Death(s) of Alan Turing by Justine F. Chen with American Lyric Theater at Merkin Concert Hall in New York.
Other recent credits include Prince Sou Chong (Das Land des Lächelns), Ballad Singer (Of Mice and Men), Tony (West Side Story), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Vogelsang (Der Schauspieldirektor), and Robert (Hin und Zurück) with such companies of Venture Opera, Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice, Manhattan School of Music and Eastman Opera Theatre.
