SIX OF CLUBS
Presents
LEGENDS Of the Great American Songbook
Six of Clubs’ 2021 show features music by the legendary composers who wrote the greatest songs of the 20th Century--Masterpieces by legends like Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Frederick Loewe and Leonard Bernstein
The “standards” are as popular today as they were nearly a century ago. The music evokes the high-society sophistication of the Jazz Age, the Great Depression, and the War Years though the 1950’s.
Songs include: The Song Is You, I’ve Got plenty of Nothing, I Get A Kick out Of You, People Will Say We’re in Love, I Could Have Danced All Night, Tonight and There’s No Business like Show Business.
About Six of Clubs
Formed in 2010, SIX OF CLUBS is a group of six friends (John Hargraves, Rich Miller, Beatrice Broadwater, Angela Cason, Win Rutherfurd, Nick Firth), who are music aficionados and enjoy performing songs from The Great American Songbook--the finest American songs of the 1920s to 1960s, principally from the Broadway musical theatre, and Hollywood musicals. Over the past 10 years Six of Clubs have performed over 200 songs from the Great American Songbook. Previous Six of Clubs’ shows have featured the songs of Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Alan Jay Lerner, Burton Lane and Frederick Loewe, Rodgers and Hart and Rodgers and Hammerstein, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Cole Porter as well as songs from Hollywood Musicals, the Fabulous Fifties, and the Swinging ‘40’s. The group generally performs at private clubs on the Eastern Seaboard from Boston to Florida.
