Flower Papermaking

In this five hour workshop  Carol Marie Vossler, will teach participants the process of creating unique flower embalmed sheets of paper. Students will see how cooking plant material and breaking rags will render into a pulp and sheet formation. There will be an overview of decorative techniques, the use of pulp additives and recording your paper recipes. Students will also receive a quick lesson on how to make a small soft covered book using a pamphlet stitch binding, which they can later use on their homemade sheets of paper back home.

 Each participant will make approximately eight to ten sheets of 11”x 14” flower paper.  The finished paper will be ready 24 hours after the completion of the workshop.

 Covid Update: Due to current Covid-19 guidelines we are asking all interested students if you are fully vaccinated, as a part of our registration process. At this time you do not need to be fully vaccinated in order to participate in in-person workshops. This information will only be used for the View Center for Art and Culture to prepare proper seating for our classes in accordance with CDC and New York State guidelines. Masks and social distancing is required if you have not yet been fully vaccinated and or have not provided proof of vaccination to the front desk.
