Make your very own art print!
Lino block printmaking is an exciting and satisfying art form. This one-day class will go by quickly while you create several different prints. Open to all abilities, this hands-on class will keep your creative juices flowing. Participants will learn about the art of Lino block printing, how to transfer an image to the block, how to carve, and how to print your design using one or several different colors. Arrangements can be printed on note cards or as a print to hang on your wall. Come and enjoy the day getting messy and making prints!
The presenter, Ingrid Van Slyke, will receive her M.F.A in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design June 2023. She has exhibited her paintings in international and national group exhibitions throughout the country including New York, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Illinois. Ingrid has been a guest speaker for the National Association of Women artists, “Arts in Conversation” series and a guest teacher at the New York State Art Teacher’s Summer Institute at the Great Camp Sagamore in Upstate NY. She is also a dedicated high school visual arts teacher. Ingrid’s paintings are currently represented at Gallery 46 in Lake Placid, NY. Ingrid finds Inspiration for her paintings in the beautiful natural environment of the Adirondacks where she lives with her family.
Cost for the class is $75 for View members and $85 for guests. Materials are included in the cost of the class. Pre-registration is required and space is limited!
The class will be held July 19, 2023 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Make sure you bring a sack lunch with you as you will take a break for lunch, but you will not have time to leave the property to get lunch.
Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund, or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class can only be exchanged for another class.
