This workshop will demonstrate how to create a beautiful and hand crafted shawl as well as show the techniques of shibori stitching and indigo dyeing. Mallory will first lead in step by step demonstrations, then have participants try their hand at creating their Indigo shawl, with guidance from workshop assistants. Along the way, you'll enjoy creating your own one of a kind shibori shawl along side fellow fashion enthusiasts.

Covid Update: Due to current Covid-19 guidelines we are asking all interested students if you are fully vaccinated, as a part of our registration process. At this time you do not need to be fully vaccinated in order to participate in in-person workshops. This information will only be used for the View Center for Art and Culture to prepare proper seating for our classes in accordance with CDC and New York State guidelines. Masks and social distancing is required if you have not yet been fully vaccinated and or have not provided proof of vaccination to the front desk.
Artist Bio: Mallory Zondag is a Mixed Media Fiber artist. She graduated from Pratt Institute with honors, a BFA in Fashion Design and a minor in Art History. While at Pratt she focused on creating handmade one of a kind textiles for her collections. Since graduating, she has built a career as an independent artist and arts educator. Mallory has exhibited in galleries, participated in artist festivals, residencies and collective shows in New York and Pennsylvania. Currently located in Upstate New York.
