Urban Sketching

July 17 - July 24, 2020

Instructors: Grace LaPrade & Emma Berry

Have fun drawing the world around you in this two-session workshop hosted by View interns Grace and Emma! Urban Sketching is a fun drawing technique for artists of any skill level. What stories can be found in the communities around you? The only limit is your creativity! By the end of this workshop, you will have the confidence to create a visual journal of your everyday experiences and interactions―only a sketchbook and drawing utensil required.

In the first session of this workshop, we will meet at View and set off to explore the town of Old Forge, drawing as we go. We will discuss the history and importance of Urban Sketching and how you can integrate the technique into your everyday life to hone your observational drawing skills while also creating a visual diary.

After the first session, you will be free to explore the technique at home and share your observations via the View Urban Sketching Facebook group. The second session of the workshop will be hosted over Zoom, where we will share our drawings and stories from the week.

Registration Deadline: July 12, 2020

$40 / $30 Members (This includes both of the sessions)
