CNYWS Series: The Joy of Watercolor Sketching with Instructor Diane Klock

Come join in a fun day of Watercolor Sketching, we will learn how to simplify a scene and to quickly sketch your impression of it. We will sketch both in the classroom using photos, around the View and weather permitting venture into Old Forge and sketch a few scenes downtown.

Materials:
Sketchbook - Here are 2 brands I like to use. Whatever you get, just make sure it can handle a watercolor wash. Canson Montval Field sketchbook size 7x11 Stillman and Birn Beta 8x10 or 9x12 My favorite sketchbooks at the moment. You can purchase from art stores or Amazon.
Ultra fine Sharpie marker
A small palette to hold your watercolor, I will provide paint for you to use for this class.
Watercolor Brush Loew Cornell 7020 series #8
Ultra Round Water Brush by Niji , Kuretake , Pentel or similar brand that holds water in the handle of the brush.
Small container to hold water
Bottle of water
Paper towels
Folding stool, I use a Grand Trunk which I bought on Amazon. This is optional as you can always sit on the ground or lean against something.
Tote bag , backpack or something to carry it all in.
