Instructor: Maureen Heroux
This class will introduce the basic principals and techniques of watercolor painting through step by step demonstration, experimenting with washes, brushstrokes and other “tricks” used to ultimately produce a desired image, an Adirondack landscape.
About Maureen:
Maureen Heroux is extremely fortunate to call both Cooperstown, and Old Forge, NY her home. Surrounded by incredible beauty, both locations inspire the desire to create artistic snapshots of magical moments observed while immersed in natural splendor, from a panoramic mountain vista, to quiet fog on a morning lake. She is predominantly a watercolor landscape painter, but has also illustrated a Boardgame (Coopopoly) and several children’s books. She studied Education and Art at SUNY Oswego, and Siena, Italy and received a MA from SUNY Cortland. She has participated in the VIEW’s Plein Air Paint Out, taught art classes to Elementary children, and also exhibited in many shows including Central Adirondack Art Show, Central Watercolor Society Juried Show, as well as the National Juried Art Show in Cooperstown.
