Instructor: Mary Pokrentowski
In this warm-weather themed stained-glass class, you will create a unique panel for hanging in a window or on a wall. You will choose your design from a number of different patterns, then select all the glass from a nice array of colors and textures.
You will learn how to cut the glass and grind it to fit the pattern. You will then learn the copper foil method of assembly (also referred to as the “Tiffany” style). You will fit and solder all the foiled glass pieces together, attach a zinc channel and hanging rings, then you will clean and polish your creation till it shimmers. This is a two-day class so you will have plenty of time to complete each step without feeling rushed.
I have been doing stained glass for over 30 years. Although I prefer the copper foil method, I also make leaded windows. I have taught classes at Brennan Stained Glass Studio and in my home. Most of the items I make are my own designs.
