is designed to encourage the creative, intellectual and personal growth of emerging and established ceramic artists. The primary goal of the program is to allow a creative space to develop one’s work within View’s state of the art pottery facility. There is also the potential to gain professional experience teaching courses and working with members of View staff on studio management.
The Resident will work no more than 20 hours a week in the studio and is responsible for managing a clean, smooth running pottery studio including, but not limited to: integrating teachers into the studio, firing the kilns, reclaiming clay, making glazes, maintaining supplies inventory and assisting with fundraising activities.
View will provide the Resident with access to our state of the art ceramic studio. View will cover firing and materials costs for residents. Limited housing may be available; please inquire when applying.
We offer adult and children’s classes and there are always paid teaching opportunities. Residents may participate in View workshops and classes for the cost of materials, if room is available.
Residents will have the possibility for an exhibition of their work at the end of their residency dependent upon how long the resident decides to stay and gallery availability.
Located in the Central Adirondack's, this resort community offers the Adirondack lifestyle with many activities and part time employment is generally available.
