Hand Build and Decorate Plates With Carol Marie Vossler
Tuesday | July 13th 2021 | 9:00 am - 11:00 am or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In this workshop, instructor Carol Marie Vossler, will teach you basic hand building skills to create and decorate an 8” slump plate and one 4”x 4” flat tile. Decorating techniques will be reviewed with emphasis placed on using sgraffito and colored slip. This is a great workshop to try out working with clay and bring home your very own personalized creations.
Sgraffito is an Italian technique, produced by applying layers of contrasting colors of slip to a piece of pottery and then scratching to reveal parts of the underlying layer.
No pottery experience is needed.
Please bring your own apron/smock and small hand towel.
