VIEW presents… a unique new workshop for artists and writers together – offering you a chance to work with a master painter and an internationally-acclaimed author and writing coach.
The benefits to you as a writer:
Writing that is vivid, colorful, and rich in detail has power to hold reader interest, and it attracts the attention of literary agents and publishers. Greater “eye-word coordination” is a skill you will take away from this event.
Authors will spend the morning with a master painter, learning how to “see” like an artist and strengthening your writing with more concrete and accurate detail. Following the lunch break, you will work with internationally-known writing coach on building powerful scenes – including rich scenic detail - for novels, short stories, and memoirs.
The benefits to you as an artist:
Strengthening your technique with line, color, and image is a never-ending quest – and a source of delight when you reach new levels of proficiency. Meanwhile, learning how to write about your work for exhibitions, websites, and in articles requires another kind of proficiency - that is, the ability to articulate why you what you do, how your work is created, and its meaning in the span of your life work.
Artists will spend the morning with a writing coach, who will train you to understand your audience and how to create a strong bond with them in your artist statement and in your marketing and promotional materials. Following lunch, you will work with a master artist and university-level art instructor to refine your individual interests.
