Melanie Straub

Melanie Straub recently retired from the Special Education department at the Fayetteville-Manlius School district. She first came to CNY in 1980 as a Syracuse University student, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Retail Management. Melanie enjoyed a career as an Associate Buyer in New York City and Los Angeles, CA before moving to New Hampshire to raise a family.

Melanie, her husband Andy and their 4 children moved to Manlius NY in 2003. For many years she and her family have enjoyed summer and winter visits to Old Forge and Andy's parents camp on Fourth Lake. In 2008 they bought the camp to continue their love of the Adirondacks and create more memories with family and friends. After retiring Melanie and Andy decided to become permanent residents of Old Forge.

Becoming involved in the community is very important to Melanie and View has given her the perfect opportunity to do so. She has enjoyed volunteering, participating in workshops and being involved with the Membership committee at View. Melanie wholeheartedly believes that the arts and culture are essential for a well rounded life experience.
