The staff and volunteers at View heartily invite you to consider visiting Old Forge, NY for 2-3 days this summer (August 30-September 1), to paint en plein air with a dynamic group of fellow artists, and to donate a painting for the live auction to be held Saturday, September 1, 2018.
Each participating artist may also submit one or two paintings which will be displayed in View’s lobby during the 3 days, for sale as “pay and take” (see details below!)
Artists from the previous 8 years have shared their enthusiasm for this event and return again and again to meet and paint with artists from around the Northeast, attend the Adirondack National Exhibition ofAmerican Watercolors, paint in spectacular settings, and support View, the arts center in Old Forge.
Each participating artist will be provided with some supplies and meals courtesy of the Plein Air Committee. Overnight accommodations are also available, thanks to generous members of the Old Forge area community, on a space available basis.
When you register you will begin to receive information about your visit to Old Forge and specifics about your participation in this exciting annual event. Please refer to the registration form for more details.
Two days of painting culminates in the lively auction on Saturday at 5:00, when the public is invited to come bid on our donated paintings. A preview reception will start at 4:30, giving guests an opportunity to view the artwork and choose their favorites to bid on, we hope! Proceeds benefit the programs and workshops offered by View to all area residents and visitors of all ages year round.
