On June 17th, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., owners of The Adirondack Cheese Company, Tony Leiker and Craig Shaffer, are welcoming View arts center members and the public to a cocktail reception, open house, and wine tasting event at their great camp on Fourth Lake, the Albedor, to benefit the Old Forge-based View arts center.
Bremer’s Wine & Liquor will be sponsoring the wine tasting. Food sponsors include The Woods Inn, Great Pines, The Pickle Boat Grill and more. Besides enjoying food and spirits, guests will be welcome to tour the 17,000 square foot Albedor house and its grounds and boathouse.
Built in 1927 by a wealthy New York City family, the Albedor comprises a three-story main house, carriage house, boathouse, and several cabins located on 900 feet of Fourth Lake waterfront. Like other Adirondack great camps, the Albedor allows visitors a glimpse into history – the unique architecture that emerged from British and American Craftsmen movements plus the spectacular luxury enjoyed by its early 20th century owners – and a chance to enjoy the breathtaking natural setting.
Tony Leiker said, “Craig and I are inspired by the history and natural beauty of the Adirondacks, and we strongly support View’s mission to share and inspire residents and visitors, so we are delighted to host this benefit.” The Albedor has hosted two previous View benefits, the latest in 2016, an evening of entertainment and cocktails which sold out to 180 eager visitors.
