View is teaming up with the Town of Webb UFSD to host a free open to the public concussion and injury seminar. Seminar will take place in View’s Gould Hall on November 19th, 2017 starting at 3:00pm.
American Hockey League (AHL) Physical Therapist Nolan Rodriguez will present the seminar. Dr. Rodriguez graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University where he received his Masters in Physical Therapy in 2006 and is currently working on his Doctorate. Dr. Rodriguez has more than 11 years of diverse experiences such as injury treatments during all home games, to the hockey players of the AHL affiliate club to the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning and outpatient orthopedic specialist treatments. Dr. Rodriguez’s specialist treatments include outpatient orthopedic specialist in diagnostics and treatments, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, soft tissue manipulation, and modalities to a variety of musculoskeletal ailments.
During seminar you will learn what specifically is a concussion, symptoms as well as treatment and protocol of return to play procedures. The seminar will conclude with a discussion of short vs. long-term effects as well as ways to limit exposure to concussions in sports. Feel free to bring any and all concussion questions.
