VIEW’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark P. Salsbury as President of VIEW. In this new position, Mark will have responsibility for all operational management and staff. Additionally, he will lead business strategy development and work closely with the Board in creating a long-term blueprint for VIEW’s growth and expansion as a unique and leading community-based center for arts and culture in the Adirondack Mountains.
Mark has a broad range of worldwide leadership and senior management experience, and has led cultural transformations, merger integrations, and organizational model changeovers in executive positions at Schlumberger Limited and Dover Corporation. Following his retirement from Dover, he started his own consulting business and authored the book, “Human Capital Management: Leveraging Your Workforce for a Competitive Advantage.”
Mark has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from Utica College of Syracuse University, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration specializing in Administrative Management from SUNY Albany.
Mark and his wife, Patricia, and their children have been a part of the Old Forge community for over two decades. The Adirondacks and the Old Forge community are near and dear to their hearts, and they have a passion for rustic Adirondack art.
VIEW’s Board and team are extremely excited and fortunate to have someone of Mark’s caliber joining VIEW, especially in time for an upcoming summer season of exciting events, and creative and fine arts workshops taught by visiting artists throughout New York State.
Also, along with its Garden Tour on July 17th and its Antique Show on July 27th and 28th, VIEW will host a performance series from July 8th to September 8th with sixteen wonderful plays, musicals, concerts, and family programming. This includes An Evening with Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary), the 9th Annual Broadway Meets Opera with Matthew White and David Pershall, local favorite Nick Ziobro, Ireland’s Piano Man Cahal Dunne, Bubblemania for the family, and an amazing chamber group, Trio Kisosen.
There will be a reception welcoming Mark on June 3rd at VIEW from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
