View opens its doors for a free open house and pancake breakfast on October 1, 2017! The event starts at 9:30am and ends at 1:00pm.
Pancakes will be served with real New York maple syrup made and donated by the students from the Town of Webb and Verona Sherrill school districts from 9:30am to 11:30am. Students from the Town of Webb School District will have a mock maple tapping area to educate others how to tap and create maple syrup. Pancakes provided by Enchanted Forest Water Safari. The event will be free of charge, yet donations are welcome. All donations will go to the youth makerspace movement in the central Adirondacks whose mission is to help create spaces for young people to explore, learn, design, create, and make.
After enjoying pancakes, take some time to explore what View has to offer. In the ceramic studio watch a demonstration of wheel throwing, hand building, and glazing. Then make your way to our workshop area to learn about our glass fusion program. Don’t leave the workshop area without checking out the children’s art table, which will be set up for a fun take-home project.
In addition to the workshop area, learn the process of exhibition changeover as well as visit information booths about Health and Wellness programs, yoga, essential oils, ladies’ night out, and whole foods cooking classes.
Closing out Neighbor Day at 12:50pm we will be holding our drawing for the Hornbeck Canoe raffle, where one lucky ticket holder will be going home with a new canoe!
