Overview

Suzanne Rodio's acting workshop takes the participant through a practical, step-by-step approach to the techniques of building a performance.  Each session builds upon the last, ultimately leading to the Showcase Performance. Here's what Ready, Set, Perform looks like, session by session:

Session 1: Building the Foundation

Goal: Introduce acting techniques, build a trusting environment, start working on scenes/monologues

Session 3: Voice and Movement

Session 4: Deep Dive into Character

Goal: Focus on emotional depth, subtext, and relationships in scenes/monologues

Session 5: Scene Work

Goal: Run through scenes/monologues and build confidence

Suzanne Murdock Rodio is a Central New York based theater practitioner. As a seasoned actor and respected mentor, with a passion for the craft, she draws on decades of experience, including performances in Central New York, Germany, and Scotland's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Recognized by the Theater Association of New York State for acting and directing, Suzanne sets a high standard for excellence in the field. The essence of her teaching philosophy is a belief in the transformative power of acting, guiding students in technical skills, emotional intelligence and artistic expression. Known for fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment, Suzanne inspires actors to explore creativity and take risks in a safe space.
