Lou is a retired wildlife biologist and manager that has spent 30 years of his
career with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation as a Black
Bear Specialist. During that time, he has had countless encounters with black
bears, from capturing cubs and adults for monitoring, to investigating black
bear related problems ranging from bird feeder incidents and home entries,
to human injuries. Drop in and learn about the history of black bears in the
Adirondacks and learn how to solve your black bear issues from someone
with years of experience. Walk-ins are welcomed, but you are able to
preregister for the event by calling our office at 518-548-6191 to guarantee a
