Overview

In this two-day workshop long-time potter, Bette Rintrona, will guide students through the process of slab building a decorative fruit bowl.

Bette has been a driving force in the View Pottery studio for many years. Students will benefit from her mastery of slab building technique and eye for form and decoration.

This hand-building class can be enjoyed by both beginning and more advanced students as there are lots of opportunities for personal expression. These lovely large fruit bowls are made over hump molds and are a good canvas for many decorations. You will have available a wide variety of texturizing tools, including wooden rollers, stamps, antique lace doilies, onion bags, and sheets of old typeset print cut into various geometric pieces. To add interest, your bowls will be completed with foot rims and carvings on the back.

On the first day, the bowl and foot rim will be completed. When you return, on the second day, your pieces will have been bisque-fired, and ready to glaze. View will notify you when your pieces are ready to be picked up.

Class is limited to 8 students.
