Overview

This workshop will provide an extensive amount of information to help you build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of watercolor painting. Including information about watercolor paint, paper, techniques, brush work, creating texture, supplies and materials.  

This workshop will also include basic art concepts, along with color theory and color mixing.  With this workshop you will success and enjoyment on your Watercolor journey.

All supplies you will need for this workshop will be provided.  Please bring a watercolor sketchbook/notebook for notes and practice. Lunch will not be supplied, you may bring a snack or bagged lunch.

The presenter, Janet Nye Vedder, has experience as a graphic artist, product illustrator, and art educator. With a Masters in Art Education and over twenty years of experience teaching art, Janet is dedicated to sharing, promoting, and broadening the inquiry of art in our lives. She is a member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, Central New York Watercolor Society, New York State Art Teachers Association, Castiglia Art Center Education Committee, and the Steering Committee for the Arts and Craftsmen Guild.  She is honored to have been a participant in the Buffalo AKG Art Museum (formerly the Albright-Knox Art Gallery) Universals Albright -Knox 150.  In the Summer of 2023, Janet is having a solo exhibition of her work at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens, Buffalo, New York.
