Making, Coloring and Decorating with Slip

Discover the creative possibilities of decorating clay with colored slip in this fun, hands-on workshop at View Arts Center! First learn how make a smooth slip with consistency and ease.  Add stains to add vibrant color, texture, and unique designs to your pottery while the clay is still leather-hard. You'll explore a variety of slip decorating techniques, including slip trailing, sgraffito, and simple surface design methods that bring your work to life.

Perfect for beginners and experienced ceramic artists alike, this workshop will help you build confidence in surface decoration while creating one-of-a-kind pieces. Leather hard test tiles will be available to practice new skills.  Successful tiles can be fired and kept for inspiration for future ceramic creations.  Participant are welcome to bring in a leather hard piece of their own to decorate.  

No previous pottery experience is required.  All materials are included in the cost of the workshop.   

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund, or can be exchanged for another class.  Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class can only be exchanged for another class.  No refunds or exchanges will be made for failing to show up to class without prior notice.
