Overview

 An online workshop for Veterans, Active Duty Personnel, or Military Family Members

 

Interest in our military is at an all-time high. Military memoirs and novels are gaining wide audiences. Do you have a story to tell? 

This online workshop will give you an overview of how to begin, or continue writing your manuscript with an eye toward publication. It will touch on story arcs, plot development, and character development.

It will also feature short presentations by two highly experienced veterans (see below), with dramatic stories and writing experience. 

Presenters:  

David Hazard, a 40+-year veteran publishing consultant, editor, and internationally bestselling author will host and M.C. this lively, interactive workshop and discussion. 

Dan Sheehan was a Marine Cobra helicopter pilot, serving two tours of duty in the first Gulf War.  He has written a memoir, After Action  that is on the Marine Commandants Recommended Reading List,  and Continuing Actions, a practical guide for veterans looking for help to resolve post-combat issues. He is a much sought speaker for military events. (Both are available on Amazon.) Dan, who is married to an active Army Reservist, Lena, has been teaching his son to surf. 

Mariah Smith was active duty Army, and then became a liaison between the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress, representing the Army on many important issues. She now works for non-profits in the Northern Virginia/ DC area. 

This workshop will be held via Zoom. The zoom will be recorded, and recordings will be sent to registered participants even if they aren't able to attend during the scheduled session.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class will receive a 100% refund, or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class can only be exchanged for another class. No refunds or exchanges will be made for failing to show up to class without notice prior to the day of the event.

In the event that View were to cancel a class, a full refund for the class will be issued.
