Overview

Learn about what tessellations are and how to create your own using handmade stamps.  A tessellation is a pattern created by repeatedly fitting geometric shapes together without gaps or overlaps, creating an intricate design.

Day one, students will learn how to create stamps by carving designs into clay slabs, then learn how to approach creating their own tessellation pattern.  Stamps will then be bisque fired by View to be used on day 2.

Day two, students build a cup or mug using slabs decorated with the stamps created on day one.  Those only attending day 2 will have access to stamps already created by instructor, Zach Sandler.

This is a flexible workshop allowing students to attend either both days, or just the day they are interested in.

No Previous pottery experience is required.  This workshop is great for both beginning and experienced potters!

Materials are included in the cost of the class.

Kids 14 and older are welcome.
