2026 Quilts Unlimited
This year’s juried exhibition will feature quilts created by some of the country's finest quilters and fiber artists working today. The quilts on display demonstrate a range of techniques and designs, from traditional quilting to contemporary art quilts. Each stunning quilt reflects the artist's commitment to design, creativity, and skill. The result is an extraordinary exhibition of quilts.
CALL FOR ART:
Submissions are welcome from all quilters working in Art, Bed, or Wall quilts. Bed & Wall Quilts require stitching to go through all three layers of a quilt. Art Quilts require stitching to go through three layers of the quilt. Kit quilts and hand-tied quilts are not eligible. All entries require attribution given to the pattern designer if applicable, and personal execution created within the past 4 years. Artwork previously shown at View is not eligible.
Juror of Selection: Sue Cortese
Sue Cortese is quilt artist who lives in Holland, Michigan. Her medium is the quilt form, her process starts with white fabric. She has been creating sewn compositions with her hand dyed fabric and quilting them since 1995. The combination of layers, pattern, and texture add to the work, keep her playing and exploring. From start to finish, her work incorporates the many techniques she has learned over the years: dyeing and printing her own fabric, piecing and appliqué, machine and hand quilting, and various finishes. Recently adding shibori manipulated, indigo dyed fabrics. Sue has also started working in paper and mixed media collage. Her work has been displayed in quilt shows and art museum around the country. She teaches various dyeing and quilting techniques. Sue is a board member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), as well as a Certified Quilt Judge through NACQJ. suecortesequilt.com
Juror of Awards: Pat Harrison
Pat Harrison is a Certified Judge, Webmaster of the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges and a Featured Quilter in Quiltfolk Rhode Island. She teaches, lectures, and judges nationally in addition to being a pattern designer and award-winning long-arm quilter. A retired school librarian and teacher, she has won numerous awards for her quilts and her customer quilts at local, regional, national, and international shows. Her original design quilts are frequently featured in quilting magazines. Her newest passion is creating modern improv quilts and developing easy, yet accurate, methods for her students. Pat has recently added a YouTube channel to her repertoire, offers all her workshops and lectures on Zoom, and is planning on offering on-demand classes in the near future. Pat lives in rural Rhode Island with her husband, Bob, of Bob’s Featherweights where she also enjoys gardening and burying her nose in a good book.
When judging quilts, Pat evaluates design and workmanship equally and seeks to recognize the best qualities of each quilt as well as to provide direction to the quilter for future improvement. Her philosophy of quilt judging is to provide a positive, constructive experience for the judged quilt entrant through custom-created commentary.
