Overview

In this beginner's charcoal portrait workshop, students will focus on pictorial structures such as Proportion, Form Modeling, Chiaroschuro, Composition and space while creating a portrait using Charcoal on Paper.  It is designed to promote individual expression through illusionist portraiture. Students will work from the model on one pose for the entire workshop.

Yulia Levkovich is an award-winning representational painter. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including the Beau-Xi Gallery, Flowers Gallery and Munson-Williams Arts Institute. Yulia had worked previously as Art Production Assistant for Jeff Koons and has taught privately, as well as in several institutions including The New York Academy of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and currently teaches at Pratt Munson-Williams Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, NY.

She completed her rigorous training at the Academy of Realist Art under the tutelage of Michael John Angel, who himself studied with Pietro Annigoni. During her training at the Academy, she received her BFA from OCAD University in Toronto. She proceeded to receive her MFA at the New York Academy of Art, after graduating with Honors in 2008.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to the first day of a class can receive a 100% refund or can be exchanged for another class. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the first day of class will not be refunded.  In the event that View were to cancel a class, a full refund for the class will be issued.
