Overview

"Functional Pottery: Exploring Form and Color with Fabric Pressed Ceramics and Watercolor" is a dynamic three-class session, each lasting two hours, where participants will fuse pottery with textile techniques. Using provided or personal fabric, attendees will press textures into ceramic slabs, creating unique forms. With expert guidance, they'll then apply vibrant watercolor underglazes to finish their functional pottery pieces. This course encourages experimentation and individual expression, offering a creative platform for all skill levels to explore the intersection of ceramics and color.  This class is taught by Potter Kayla J. Spivey, an emerging ceramic artist that specializes in hand building techniques.
