Lewis Bryden is an American artist known nationally for his plein air landscape paintings, his perceptive portraits and figure paintings, and for his marble, bronze and terracotta sculpture. He is a realist artist who celebrates the joy he finds in nature and the world where he lives in art.
Bryden created a suite of works over forty years devoted to a theme of nostalgic summer idylls on America’s “playgrounds by the sea.” This exhibit is comprised of seventeen paintings from this series.
The Board of Trustees and the View Team are honored to bring the art and vision of Lewis Bryden to the Adirondack region, to our members, visitors and community.
We would like to thank the collectors who contributed to this show by loaning paintings to our exhibit:
